YOMARI SONG

According to Newa tradition, it is now traditional for children, including elderly, to sing a particular song and ask for Yamari at adjacent residences. However, as time has passed, this pattern has dwindled to the point of extinction. ““त्य: छिंत्य:”:– Tya Chintyo” is the name of the song, which is still occasionally heard, and the words are given below.

Some refer to it as “Tyachim Tyah Phonegu,” however the majority refer to it as “Yomari Phonegu,” as it sings a lovely folk tune. People in various locations use their own terms to express the meaning of Tyachim Tyo.

Its explained as follows:
“Good if it is four mana
If not one mana is okay
Two mana full is better
The Yomari has a pointed tip
It is dark inside
It is delicious if you give
If not, it is tasteless
One who gives is a young girl
One who doesn’t is a stingy old woman.”
